PRESS: Owners of Russia’s Reebok, Lebanon’s firm can buy Decathlon

MOSCOW, May 30 (PRIME) -- The assets of sportswear retail chain Decathlon in Russia can be bought by Turkey’s FLO Retailing that acquired Reebok’s local business last year and Lebanon’s Azadea Group, Vedomosti business daily reported on Tuesday citing two realty consultants and a partners of the retailer.

“Turkish FLO Retailing and Lebanese Azadea Group are in talks on purchasing of the business of French chain Decathlon in Russia,” the daily reported.

“Two options of the deal are being considered. The first one is acquiring the entire Russia-based chain and relaunching of Decathlon stores under a franchising model, and the other one is similar, but some stores will be closed,” it also reported.

The deal is to be closed no earlier than in the autumn.

No information is available if there are any other bidders for the assets.
